HADDONFIELD, N.J. – Haddonfield Memorial High School is proud to announce the appointment of Matt Elmuccio as the new Head Coach of the Bulldogs’ Boys Cross Country, Indoor Track & Field, and Outdoor Track & Field programs for the 2026-2027 school year.

Coach Elmuccio brings more than two decades of coaching experience and one of the most accomplished resumes in New Jersey track and field. Throughout his career, he has built championship-caliber programs, developed elite student-athletes, and earned widespread respect for his leadership, knowledge, and commitment to excellence.

Most recently, Elmuccio served as the Boys Cross Country and Spring Track Coach, and Boys and Girls Winter Track Coach at Cherry Hill High School West, where he coached numerous school-record performances, guided the school’s first-ever Group 3 relay state champion, produced the school’s first Camden County Champion in boys’ cross country, and coached multiple sectional champions.

Prior to Cherry Hill West, Elmuccio spent 13 highly successful seasons at Pitman High School, where his teams established one of the premier distance-running and track programs in South Jersey. During his tenure, he:

• Won six South Jersey Group 1 sectional championships in girls’ track and cross country.
• Captured Group 1 State Championships in girls’ cross country and spring track.
• Coached 32 sectional champions and 12 state champions.
• Led both boys’ and girls’ programs to numerous relay and team championships.
• Was twice named South Jersey Track Coaches Association Cross Country Coach of the Year by his peers.

As an athlete, Elmuccio is one of the most decorated distance runners in New Jersey history. A graduate of Westfield High School, he won six New Jersey Meet of Champions titles, captured eight Group State Championships, earned All-American honors, qualified for the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships, and later competed at the NCAA Division I level at the University of Colorado, where he was a Big 12 All-Conference performer.
