Dugan & DeCencio Dedicated Player

Jack Dugan & Samuel DeCencio Dedicated Player Award

This special award is given annually to a player on the varsity who has shown true dedication to his teammates and strived to push our program to new heights.  Jack and Sam were an extremely rare duo who showcased incredible talent and skill during their respective, overlapping four year varsity careers.  They led the varsity in many statistical categories between the years of 2014 and 2017 and will long remembered as two of the most gifted play makers in program history.  Jack stands as Haddonfield Boys Soccer's all-time leading goal scorer with 72 career goals; surpassing Rich Sexton's old program record which was set in 1979.  Sam was a force in his own right having scored 30 career goals while adding 59 assists during the course of his four year career at HMHS.  His 25 assists as a senior in 2017 were the most from a player in South Jersey that season and are also the program's all-time, single-season record.  Both players have played or continue to play soccer at the collegiate level; Sam a graduate of LaSalle University where he was a mainstay in their midfield as a starter from 2018 to 2021 and then went on to represent Monmouth University Men's Soccer as a graduate student-athlete in 2022.  Jack began his collegiate career at James Madison University in 2018 and then transferred to Babson College in Massachusetts.  Jack was named an All-NEWMAC Academic Team Member twice in 2021 & 2022 as well as Second-Team All-NEWMAC as a midfielder during the 2021 Fall Season.  Jack has also been named as the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association College Player of the Year for 2022; the first alumnus in HMHS soccer history to be named the award's recipient.
