Justin Singleton.


Head Baseball Coach

Biography:

Coach Justin Singleton is in his second year leading the Haddonfield Memorial High School baseball program.  A native of Sparks, Maryland, he graduated high school from St. Paul’s School for Boys in Brooklandville, Maryland, in 1997 where he attended since Kindergarten.

He was drafted in the ninth round of the 1997 amateur baseball draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks; however, he accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Clemson University instead.  At Clemson, Singleton was a 3-year Letterman, 1998 Honorable Mention Freshman All-American, Team Captain, 2000 College World Series participant; 3-year Honor Roll member, 3-year Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll member, highest cumulative GPA in the university's baseball program, and on the Dean’s List.  Singleton was coached by Jack Leggett (American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame 2014), Current Vanderbilt Head Coach, Tim Corbin (ABCA HOF 2020), Current University of Florida Head Coach, Kevin O'Sullivan and Current Western Kentucky Head Coach, John Pawlowski.     

Singleton played summer baseball in the Shenandoah Valley League in Virginia and the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League in Massachusetts. Following his junior year, he signed and played with the Toronto Blue Jays for six seasons in their minor league system before finishing his professional career with the AAA Syracuse Sky Chiefs, where he was awarded the Toronto Blue Jays Harold Berman Community Involvement Service Award.

Coach Singleton is one of four children, the second son of Ken Singleton, a Baltimore Orioles Hall Of Fame outfielder/designated hitter, and an Emmy award-winning television broadcaster for The YES Network.  As their lead analyst for New York Yankees baseball games, Ken enjoyed 25 years calling games before retiring in 2021. 

Justin stays active watching his three children play various sports (sometimes as coach); beach days in Ocean City, New Jersey, and summer lake vactions with Haddonfield friends.

He and his wife, Tricia (nee Williams), a native of Medford, New Jersey, have resided in Haddonfield for 12 years.  Tricia is also a HMHS coach for girls' Varsity soccer. The Singletons have three children: Jaxson, Kenley and Kallie; and Roxy their Doberman.

Thomas Gosse.


Head Varsity Assistant/Catching Coordinator

Biography:

Coach Gosse is entering his third season as a member of the Haddonfield baseball coaching staff.  He is a 2015 graduate of HMHS.  Thomas was born in Camden and grew up in Haddonfield.  He played his first organized baseball in Haddonfield Little League and was a member of the 2009 12 year old Little League team that advanced to the state finals. 

Coach Gosse earned 3 varsity letters for Coach Bob Bickel's HMHS program.  In his sophomore and junior seasons, he played every position and then earned the starting catcher job as a senior.  Thomas was an integral member of two 20+ win teams (2014 & 2015), one Camden County championship (2014), two outright Colonial Conference championships (2014 & 2015) and he captained a team that made a run to the South Jersey Group 2 Final in his senior season of 2015.

After graduating from HMHS, Coach Gosse continued his academic and baseball careers at Rutgers University - Camden.  In his 5 years, he was a four-time team captain for the Scarlet Raptors under head coaches Dennis Barth and Ryan Kulik.  During the winters while in college, Coach Gosse caught bullpens for local big leaguers such as Ryan Butcher, Lou Trevino, Zac Gallen and Vance Worley, in addition to countless minor league pitchers.  

Gosse loves coaching and sharing all of the knowledge he's learned from the legendary coaches he played for during his career.  Playing and teaching baseball "the right way" has always been a passion of his.  Coach Gosse preaches playing smart, hustling and maximizing your own ability.

In his free time, Coach Gosse likes to spend time with his family and friends and take trips to the beach.  Thomas is currently a middle school special education teacher in Camden, NJ.

Dan Brown.


Head Pitching Coach / Pitching Coordinator

Biography:

Coach Dan Brown is in his second year as a member of the HMHS baseball staff.  He comes on board as the volunteer pitching coach and program's pitching coordinator.  Coach Brown was born and raised in Philadelphia until he was 13 years old.  He attended Junior High and High School at Lower Cape May Regional before graduating and moving on to Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey).  

As a pitcher at Trenton State, Coach Brown was a four year starter and ace of the staff.  He was a four time NJAC All League Selection, NJAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman, two time NJAC Pitcher of the Year and two time All Region selection.   Dan graduated Trenton State with a Bachelors Degree in Ciminal Justice and from Fairleigh Dickinson with his Masters in Business Administration.  He is a member of Trenton State's Athletic Hall of Fame and holds multiple pitching records, including the program's all-time winningest pitcher.  

Coach Brown played collegiate summer baseball in the prestigious Cape Cod League for the Wareham Gatemen, in the AAABA Johnstown Collegiate League and also in the Ontario (Canada) Collegiate Summer League.  

Following his collegiate career, he began a professional career in the Baltimore Orioles system.  He battled through shoulder injuries to climb the ladder, but suffered a second torn rotator cuff, which ended his career.  

Coach Brown is a former College Adjunct professor at Rutgers University - Camden, Rowan University, Rowan College at South Jersey and Camden County College.  He is a retired Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Resident Agent in Charge.  Dan currently is a Field Representative in the Police Training Commission for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.  He is also the owner of DACK Enterprises LLC, a real estate rehabilitation company.  

Coach Brown has been married to Martha Brown (née Cuzzupe) for 26 years and they have four children; Daniel (HMHS '17), Christopher (HMHS '19), Alexandra (HMHS '23) and Katherine (9th grade).
